The police have solved the case and rescued the boy

It was a case of a close friend turning kidnapper for money. Accused Prathamesh alias Datta Sanjay Gorle (20) was close friend of Harshit Santosh Pal (17) and the first person who decided to kidnap Harshit for ransom of Rs one crore.
Prathamesh, a BA First Year student of Adarsh Kala Mahavidyalay, Eight Mile, did not have a car and he was searching for a partner who could arrange a car for the crime. He exchanged the idea with other criminals and roped them in the crime. A resident of Flat No. 208, Gopal Vihar, Indira Nagar, Wadi, Prathamesh used to visit Harshit’s place in Mahadeo Nagar, Lavha, Wadi.


Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Detection Sambhaji Kadam informed that Prathamesh shared the idea with Gaurav Suryawanshi, a resident Sonba Nagar, Lavha who roped in another accused including prime accused Prince alias Cijo Chandra Chandra L R (38), a resident of Ambedkar Nagar, New Delhi. Prince has a Swift Dzire car which was stolen from Aurangabad. After couple of meetings, the criminals planned the kidnapping.


Prathamesh and a juvenile phoned Harshit on Wednesday at 9.30 pm and asked him to come near a paan kiosk. When Harshit came there, Prathamesh, Gaurav and Prince were waiting for him in a Swift Dzire car. Prathamesh asked Harshit to sit in the car to show house of one Avinash Ukey. When Prathamesh boarded in the car, the accused sped away from the spot with Harshit. They tied his hands and legs and stuffed a cloth in his mouth.


During investigation, the police learnt about involvement of Prathamesh and the juvenile after checking Call Details Records (CDR) of Harshit's mobile phone.


Cijo Chandran made a ransom call to father of Harshit and demanded ransom of Rs one crore on Thursday. The police were continuously monitoring movement of the accused.
The police launched a massive hunt to trace the boy and track down the kidnappers. As many as five teams of Crime Branch and two teams of Wadi Police were engaged in the operation.


After kidnapping Harshit from Wadi area, the kidnappers were on way to Delhi via Narkhed, Pandhurna, Patansaongi, Saunsar, Chhindawada, Baitul, Itarsi, Pipariya, Bhopal, Pachor, Rajgharh and Jhanis. However, the kidnappers were arrested in Pachod police station area on Sunday night.


Accused have been identified as prime accused Cijo Chandra Chandra L R (38), a resident of Ambedkar Nagar, New Delhi; Prathamesh Gorle (20), a resident of Flat No. 208, Gopal Vihar, Indira Nagar, Wadi; Narayan Sundarlal Pawar (36), a resident of Dunava, tehsil-Multai, Dist.- Baitul, Madhya Pradesh; Dinesh Motiram Baraskar (39), a resident of Pratap Ward, Tikari, Baitul, Madhya Pradesh. Prathamesh, Naryan and Dinesh have been arrested by city polie while Cijo Chandran is under the custody of MP police. Another accused Guarav Bhuvanlal Suryawanshi, a resident of Sonba Nagar went absconding in MP.


Under the guidance of DCP Detection Kadam, DCP Zone I Vivek Masal, ACP Sanjiv Kamble, the arrest was made by Wadi PI Naresh Pawar, PI Sandip Bhosle, API Gorakh Kumbhar, Prashant Choughule, Pratip Atulkar, Dhnaneshwar Bhedodkar, Jitendra Bobde, Yogesh Choudhary, Kiran Chougule, Devidas Chopde, Mandar Puri, PSI Amol Lakde and others. The accused have been booked under Sections 363, 364 (a), 120 (b) and 387 of Indian Penal Code.
