Our Correspondent,

In a bizarre incident, an enraged girl, deceived by her lover who exploited her physically on pretext of marriage, chopped off the left hand of her paramour. The accused was molesting her for the last 8 months. Police have registered the case under Sections 317, 34 of Indian Penal Code (IPC).

As per police sources, the accused Khuleshwar Painkara (32) along with his wife and mother had gone to his farm to see the crops on September 5 and had drinking water from nearby ‘dhodi’. When the girl Lalwati Painkara (22) with her father Sudhan Sai Painkara (50) and brother Hemsagar Painkara (25) reached there, the frustrated girl took revenge of his depravity and chopped off his left hand with sword and fled.

After hearing screams of Khulehswar Painkara, his wife and mother reached the place and rushed him to the Lailunga community health centre. Khuleshwar’s wife filed complaint at the Kotba police station about the incident. The police personnel booked the culprits under sections 307 and 34 of IPC. The girl along with his father and brother in front of police admitted committing the crime.

In the statement to police, Lalwati Painkara said that earlier Khulehswar had tried to molest her and she had filed a complaint in Kotba Police Station regarding this. After some time, Khulehwar lured Lalwati in his love saying that they will go and start a new life. He took her to Raigarh and kept her for 8 months assuring that he would marry her and molested her physically. But he did not keep the promise so in order to take revenge, the girl chopped off his left hand.

When contacted, Kotba police station in-charge Chandra Prakash Tripathi said that details are being gathered. Victim’s chopped hand, the blood stained sword, soil with blood from the spot and stone has been taken as evidence.
