KOLAR police foiled dacoity bid and nabbed six dacoits from near Jagaran Lake City University while they were planning a robbery late on Tuesday night and seized sharp edged-weapons, a country-made pistol, two live cartridges, hammer, chilli powder and a car from their possession. However, mastermind of the gang managed to escape from the spot during raid of police. SP (South) Rahul Lodha while addressing the mediapersons said that on receipt of information of gathering of a few miscreants carrying knives and firearms to plan a robbery, police swung into action and two teams were rushed to the spot and nabbed six persons near Green Hill Colony.


A Maruti Zen car (MP-05-E6700), a country-made pistol, two live cartridges, two sharp-edged weapons and chilli powder were recovered from their possession. In initial investigation, when dacoits were questioned they confirmed that they were planning for Akash Oswal of Damkheda B-Sector who called them here for dacoity and who escaped the spot when the police raided the spot. Six accused have been identified as Shivam Kapil (19),Veeru alias Pradeep Babulal (18), Amit Sawle (18), Rahul alias Dinesh Sen (19), Santosh Tawde(22) and Rohit alias Batla Khare (22). The accused confessed that Akash had called them and they came in a car owned by Shivam which was parked near the spot and later it was seized by police. Police have registered a case under Sections 399, 402 of the IPC and Section 25/27 of Arms Act.


Police found that in the past two months accused were involved in six crimes including confining Madhulika Jain (59), wife of Rakesh in her home located in Kolar on September 28 and looting Rs 1.40 lakh by Rahul alias Dinesh, Veeru and Akash. Akash, Amit, Shivam, Dinesh and Veeru were involved in three other robberies and two motorbike thefts in September. Police have booked them under Sections 399 and 420 of IPC and 25/ 27 of Arms Act and started investigation for recovery of stolen goods from their possession.

 


 

Goon arrested for robbing dairy owner

Hanumanganj police arrested a 21-year-old notorious criminal from Qazi Camp who robbed a dairy owner of Rs 2,000 at Gurunanak Colony on Tuesday. Police said that the accused Zaib alias Zaib Khan, a resident of New Categorised Market, was nabbed from Qazi Camp area and stolen money was recovered from his possession. Sameer Khan in his complaint stated that the accused came and robbed him at knife-point and escaped the spot. Police had registered a case under Section 392 and 506 of the IPC and later nabbed the accused.


Accused was booked by Hanumanganj and Shahjehanabad police for around six cases and it was only two days ago that he came out of jail in connection with loot using fake pistol.
