Nandanvan Police recover 33 stolen motorcycles from three-member gang

The accused were selling the bikes at throw-away price

Nandanvan police have busted a gang of vehicle-lifters who stole vehicles, replace the engine and chassis numbers with those of scrapped automobiles and sell those at throw-away price. The police arrested three gang members and recovered 33 stolen motorcycles from their possession hidden in a nullah at Nimkheda village in Parseoni tehsil.

The accused were selling the Enfield Bullet which costs around Rs 1.60 lakh for just Rs 10,000 showing urgency for money to the buyer, informed Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Zone IV Nilesh Bharne on Tuesday. The accused have been identified as Shubham Mahendra Marathe (25), a resident of Padole Nagar, Nandanvan; Anil Ashok Dhoke (24), a resident of Nimkheda village in Parseoni tehsil and Sahib alias Sahil Khan Sahid Khan (30), a resident of Gausiya Colony, Hudkeshwar.

The racket came to light when a person, who brought a Avenger bike from the accused, approached the police after the accused persons did not handed-over documents of the bike. Nandanvan police started investigation and located the accused. The gang have stolen the vehicles from Nandanvan, Sakkardara, Kalamna and Lakadganj police station area.
Under the guidance of DCP Bharne, the arrest was made by Nandanvan PI Vinayak Chavan, Salunke and staff including API Dhadge, PSI Thorat, WPSI S D Jaybhaye, Sachin, Shrikant, Amol, Bhimrao, Deepak, Pankaj and others.
