Business Bureau,

Alexis Multispecialty Hospital in association with Divisional Sports Complex, Nagpur recently organised the second edition of -- Joint Effort, an arthritis awareness programme on October 7, 2018 to mark the upcoming ‘World Arthritis Day’ which is celebrated world-wide on October 12.
In line with the ongoing social responsibility initiatives of the organisation the event was held at Mankapur Stadium, the Divisional Sports Complex premises. This initiative is especially engaging senior citizens.

Arthritis affects 15 per cent people i.e. over 6-7 crore people in India. This prevalence is higher than many well-known diseases such as diabetes, AIDS and cancer. There are over 100 rheumatological disorders classified by World Health Organisation (WHO). Shortage of trained rheumatologists in India has led to management of these diseases by untrained doctors and practitioners of alternative medicine.

Leading cricket coach of Nagpur Shishir Sudame was the chief guest of honour for this initiative. Sudame emphasised on the importance of regular exercises to keep an individual fit and independent at any age. Seniors enthusiastically joined for the walkathon and other activities like physiotherapy and other games to help them in overall lifestyle modification.
As a part of this initiative, an educational session on ‘Arthritis Awareness’ was also hosted by Dr Alankar Ambadas Ramteke, Joint Replacement Surgeon.

Among the management members from Alexis Dr Jatinder Arora, Director Administration and Suraj Tripathi, Director Operations addressed the audience. To know more about Alexis Multispeciality Hospital log on to
