“The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn and relearn” - Alvin Toffler

With every passing day, a lot of revoulation is taking place in the IT sector hence it is of a paramount importance to be aware of or pay an attention to these new changes otherwise you may easily fall behind the times. Hence, it is necessary that at least you should have a basic understanding of this new terms that are used in IT sector. Some of the major buzzwords are listed below,

Quantam Computing:
Today’s computers are working on binary digits (bits) to process data where bit can hold a value either 0 or 1. But future is of Quantum computers which can use quantum bits (qubits) to process data. Here, qubits can possess more distinct values rather than simply 0 or 1, thus making computing a lot more efficient.

IoT (Internet of Things):
According to Wikipedia, “The Internet of things (IoT) is the network of physical devices, vehicles, home appliances, and other items embedded with electronics, software, sensors, actuators, and connectivity which enables these things to connect, collect and exchange data, creating opportunities for more direct integration of the physical world” In future, we will see lot of changes in the way we will live, for example, starting AC before leaving office for home, unlock the door via mobile devices, automatically adjusting the lights according to outside environment either at home or of vehicle, while driving, controlling speed of fan according to weather etc

Data Science:
Data Science / Data Driven Science is a field which deals with data in analyzing, understanding, performing to communicate the actual insights in the data. The data science field employs mathematics, statistics and computer science disciplines. Thus, it comprises of many things, that includes

Analytic:
It helps to analyzing information to make decisions. It uses the statistical tool for the same. Analystic is a form of Business Intelligence (BI) that is enabled and encouraged to perform queries and generate reports on their own, with nominal IT support.

Big Data:
The data which is not able to store and process by stand alone computer and application are term as big data. It requires a greater technology to process either structure or unstructured data. Hadoop and other frameworks have successfully solved the problem of storage, the focus has shifted to the processing of such data.

Machine Learning:
Machine learning integrates many advanced algorithms that learn on their own over the time like human. It can process the big data at high speed to produce desired result. It use an Artificial Intelligence (AI) tool and Artificial Neural Network (ANN) and Soft Computing Technique with deep learning technique to achieve desired goal.

Image Processing:
Using computer algorithms one can perform image processing operation on digital images like extracting, filtering, recognition etc.

Bayesian Network:
Bayesian networks allow human learning and machine learning to work in tandem. Under certain conditions and with specific theory-driven assumptions, Bayesian networks facilitate causal inference. Few examples based on Data Science; most of search engines including Google deliver the best result within a fraction of seconds for user query by means of data science algorithms by processing more than 20 petabytes of data everyday. Depending upon your choice poping up digital banners automatically on various websites or on social networking site are decided by using data science algorithms. Recommending the similar or related products automatically when you purchase certain items on Internet by giants like Amazon, Twitter, Google Play, Netflix, LinkedIn, imdb. Again you might have notice on YouTube, when you select the particular song of say Kishor da, it will pop-up other popular songs of him.

Getting suggestions to tag your friends automatically when you upload certain image on Facebook. This automatic tag suggestion feature uses face recognition algorithm. Games like EA Sports, Zynga, Nintendo etc are now designed using machine learning algorithms which upgrade themselves automatically whenever player moves up to a higher level.
You might have experience to get comparative price statement from different vendor at one place on selecting certain product. PriceGrabber, PriceRunner, Shopzilla, DealTime are some examples of price comparison websites.

Dark Data:
Over the period a large data might have been dumped in the organisation without thinking what do with this dark data. Dark data is a subset of big data. Gartner defines dark data, “the information assets organizations collect, process and store during regular business activities, but generally fail to use for other purposes”. Since this data’s are unanalyzed, there are two main reasons that one needs to consider while talking about dark data. There is an opportunity to discover, new conclusion that has not been considered earlier from this data.

Mobile First:
Mobile-first, basically this term is used to build your website with your mobile users in mind, with the main goal of improving these mobile users experience on your site and then adapted to larger screens. For example, a desktop application that manages a company's entire supply chain might be redesigned as several smaller apps, tailored to different groups of users.

Conclusion
Charles Darwin quoted that, “It is not the strongest of the species, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is the most adaptable to change”. So be adaptable to new changes that are taking place especially in IT and Business sector which are now the backbone of country’s economics. In today’s era, no one should forget the relationship between IT and Business. They are integrated and hence, one should also be aware of new buzzwords that are used in business too like Content Marketing, Digital Marketing, Enterprise Resource Planning, Supply Chain Management, Business Intelligence, Market Basket Analytic, Best in class, Game Changer, 360 Degree View etc.
