Wildlife Week begins at Van Vihar

Wildlife Week celebrations started at Van Vihar National Park on Monday with great pomp and show. On first day there was painting competition in which large number of students from different schools participated. Students painted attracted design displaying the importance of wildlife and their conservation. There were two categories for the participants one is for visually impaired, hearing impaired and second one general school students.
While a few students displayed the connection of big cats with our nature, many participants displayed the food chain of animals.

The programme is being organised to promote wildlife conservation among general public. On second day there will be bird watching and biodiversity camp, Rangoli competition for class 1 to 8, Rangoli competition open class, photography workshop and interschool competition. On October 3 there will be bird watching camp, biodiversity camp and teachers workshop. On October 4, there will be bird watching camp and biodiversity workshop, awareness and creativity workshop for school students and poster exhibition. On October 5, there will be quiz competition for class 9 to 12, semi final and final, palm painting and mehendi competition. On October 6, there will be bird watching and Youth Parliament on wildlife conservation. On October 7, there will be a fancy dress competition, photography and painting exhibition and prize distribution ceremony.

With an aim to contribute for wildlife conservation, a palm painting competition on theme ‘lend your hands for wildlife’ is being organised at Van Vihar National Park on October 5.
The competition is being organised under wildlife week celebration.

Registration for the participation has been started and it will be allowed till October 3. Participants will not be allowed on the competition day if number of registration goes beyond 100.

The competition is open for all and duration of the programme will be two hours. Participants need to bring skin friendly colours and other equipment as per requirement, a friend (as a model) who lend participant hand for painting.
