Congress National President Rahul Gandhi addresses ‘Kisan Hunkar Rally’ in State Capital

Making a scathing attack on Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Government, Congress National President Rahul Gandhi announced that farmers’ loans would be waived off within 10 days if the Congress is voted to power in Chhattisgarh.
Addressing ‘Kisan Hunkar Rally’ at Science College Ground here on Monday, Rahul Gandhi said that the BJP Government didn’t do anything for farmers of country and the conditions of farmers are pathetic in country.

“Loan waiver is not a gift from the Congress. It is the right of farmers. Indian farmers toil hard in their farms from early morning but they do not get rewarded suitably,” said Gandhi kicking off the poll campaign from the State Capital.
The Congress National President said that the Congress will stand with the common people of state and it will help the people in every odd situation.

Gandhi further said that food processing plants would be set up in every district of Chhattisgarh that would generate employment for over one lakh people. Chhattisgarh has rich natural and mineral resources and the people here are rich but their rights are being snatched and to benefit few industrialists of choice, he added. Rahul Gandhi claimed that the land of tribals and farmers is being taken away by the BJP government and after Congress comes to power in Chhattisgarh as well in the country, the land of tribals and farmers will not be acquired without their permission and if their lands are acquired for development works, four times money will be paid to them, said Gandhi.

Gandhi promised that high quality higher educational universities, colleges and hospitals would be set up in Chhattisgarh if Congress comes to power.
Gandhi also launched a frontal attack on Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. The Congress National President alleged that Finance Minister Arun Jaitley’s daughter was on the payroll of fugitive businessman Mehul Choksi, who embezzled over Rs 35,000 crore and fled from the country. Rahul Gandhi also alleged that Arun Jaitley’s daughter got money from Mehul Choksi in her ICICI account. The Congress National President also accused the national media of concealing the truth. Accusing Prime Minister, Rahul Gandhi alleged that in Rafael deal Anil Ambani’s company was given undue favour by the present dispensation.

AICC General Secretary Motilal Vora, State Congress In-charge P L Punia, State Congress President Bhupesh Baghel, CLP leader T S Singhdeo, Durg MP Tamradhwaj Sahu, former Union Minister Arvind Netam, former Union Minister of State Dr Charan Das Mahant, Youth Congress National President Keshav Chand Yadav and other leaders also addressed the rally.

AICC Secretaries Dr Chandan Yadav, Arun Orao, Karuna Shukla, Amitesh Shukla, CPCC Working President Dr Shiv Kumar Dahariya and farmers in large number were present.
