Dr Singh files nomination from R’gaon

Rajnandgaon/Raipur,

Chief Minister Raman Singh along with six Bharatiya Janata Party candidates from six Assembly constituencies in Rajnandgaon district filed their nomination on Tuesday. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was also present.


While Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh who is leading the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) campaign in Chhattisgarh, filed his nomination papers from Rajnandgaon Assembly constituency, Komal Janghel filed his nomination from Khairagarh, Sarojini Banjare from Dongargarh (SC), Madhusudan Yadav from Dongargaon, Hirendra Sahu from Khujji and Kanchanmala Bhuarya from Mohla-Manpur filed their nomination papers.


Also present on the occasion were BJP National General Secretary and State In charge Dr Anil Jain, BJP State President Dharamlal Kaushik, BJP National Joint General Secretary Saudan Singh, Revenue Minister Prem Prakash Pandey, PWD Minister Rajesh Munat, Rajnandgaon MP Abhishek Singh, Veena Singh, senior BJP party office-bearers and party workers from Rajnandgaon.
Ahead of filing his nomination papers, Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh touched the feet of UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and sought his blessings.


Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh, is contesting from Rajnandgaon Assembly segment for the third consecutive time. After filing his nomination papers, the Chief Minister talking to media persons said that he and his party workers are confident that this time the party will win all the six Assembly constituencies from Rajnandgaon district and give strength to the party’s Mission 65 plus. He said the BJP has dedicated this Assembly election to Late Atal Bihari Valpayee and each party worker have vowed to form government for the fourth consecutive term with a thumping majority in the state while adding that he had complete faith on the commitment and strength of his party workers, who’ll easily achieve this goal.


Ahead of filing nominations, both Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh and Yogi Adityanath paid obeisance at the temple of Sheetal Maa in Rajnandgaon and sought blessings.
Today was the last day of filing nominations for the first phase of polls under Chhattisgarh Assembly General Election for which polling will be held on November 12. In the first phase of elections polling will be held in 18 Assembly segments across eight Left Wing Extremism affected districts including Bastar, Bijapur, Dantewada,
Sukma, Kondagaon, Kanker, Narayanpu and Rajnandgaon.


Along with these BJP candidates, other BJP candidates contesting from the remaining 12 seats in Bastar region also filed their nominations. Accordingly, Vikram Usendi filed his nominations from Antagarh (ST), Deolal Dugga filed nominations from Bhanupratappur (ST), Heera Markam from Kanker (ST), Harishankar Netam from Keshkal (ST), Lata Usendi from Kondagaon (ST), Kedar Kashyap from Narayanpur (ST), Lacchuram Kashyap from Chitrakot (ST), Beema Mandavi from Dantewada (ST), Mahesh Gagda from Bijapur (ST), Dhaniram Barse from Konta (ST) and Santosh Bafna from Jagdalpur.
Polling in remaining 72 Assembly constituencies in the 90 member Assembly, will be held on November 20. The counting of the votes will be held on December 11.
