Panduranga creates record for maximum solo cartoon expos

Renowned cartoonist and retired BSP officer, BV Panduranga Rao has registered a record for most number of solo cartoon exhibitions across places. His 50th solo cartoon exhibition with 150 cartoons on various themes organised by Kannad Sangh at Kannada Bhavan, Sector-5 Bhilai last year has
been registered in India Book of Records. Rao has dedicated this award to Bhilai fraternity and his wife Late Ratna.

Presently residing in Bangulru, Rao informed that it is matter of coincidence that his first solo cartoon exhibition was organized at Kannada Bhavan, Sector-5 Bhilai in December, 1980. At that time he never thought that organizing cartoon exhibitions for 37 years his 50th exhibition would also be held at the same venue where his first exhibition was held that will create a national record. He said that BSP management has promoted his art along with PRO officer, Late Pradeep Purtej Singh and Kannada Sangh.

Till date Rao has created cartoons on political, social, industrial, environment, sports and other subjects related to daily life. Presently he is making new experiment in cartoon art and is making 3D cartoons. Roa has to his credit of entering his name 16 times in Limca Book of Record. He has also been selected and felicitated in more than 100
times in international cartoon competitions.
