Sensitive polling booths to have Webcast facility

To ensure free and fair elections, Bhopal police and administration on Wednesday hold a joint meet to plan security of sensitive polling booths of district. In the meeting apart from Collector Sudam Khade, senior officials of police department including DIG Dharmendra Chaudhary and all SPs and ASPs were present at the meeting.

The main focus of the meeting was to beef up security of polling stations. To make booth more secure officers made a plan to deploy adequate force to the stations. Apart from this, CCTV Camera, Still camera, micro camera and webcast facilities would also be available at some sensitive polling stations.

A communication plan was also made during the meeting in which cops and administration planned a SMS monitoring plan for upcoming elections. Collector and senior police officers instructed the force to patrol 24 hours in city for security.

Officials said that there are 177 vulnerable areas and 338 influential also identified and the appropriate action would be taken in future to make elections secure and safe. Cops are also instructed to insure functioning of checkpoints in each and every area of city. On Wednesday, cops recovered Rs12.38 lakhs cash from at least five vehicles during intense checking at various checkposts.
