Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was addressing a seminar on ‘Sufism and Humanity’ and ‘Role of Muslim Community in Nation’s development’

“Efforts are being made to motivate the youths belonging to minority community to pursue education and also making them aware about various government schemes for education. BJP Government has been taking a firm stand for minority community,” said Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.


Fadnavis was speaking at one-day International seminar organised by Munazzamah Fallahiyyah at Hotel Orient Taibah, Great Nag Road on Saturday. The topic of the seminar was, ‘Sufism and Humanity’ and ‘Role of Muslim Community in Nation’s development’.  The organisation has organised three-day International Congregation, ‘World Islamic Sunni Ijtima’ from October 26 on the auspicious occasion of 100th pious Urs Shareef of Imaam of Ahlus Sunnah A’aala Hazrat Imaam Ahmed Raza Khana, Alaihir Rahmah.


Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Surface Transport and Highways, Shipping and Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, and Hansraj Ahir, Minister of State for Home Affairs were present as main guests. Hazrat Dr Sayyed Fazallulah Chishti Sahab from New Delhi was the chief orator. Sayyad Ajimuddin Rizwi, Maulana Imran Majhar Barkati, Sharik Sheikh, Afzal Mitah, Sayyed Imran Hussain, Nisar Siddiqui, Muhammad Tanveer, Ahmed Sharif Khan and other office-bearers of the organisation were also present.


“Sufi Saints and Sufism have always spread humanity, love and peace all over the nation. It has brought positive changes in many lives and thus everybody should follow principles of Sufism. Sufism has brought many people together,” said Fadnavis.  Speaking about Hazrat Imam Ahmed Raza, Chief Minister said, He was treasure of knowledge. ‘He has knowledge of all important fields which he shared with one and all,” he said.


Fadnavis stressed on need to bring deprived students to main stream. Before 2014, there were only 5 hostels for minority students while in last four years, Government has constructed 17 hostels for minority students and 10 more are under-construction. Earlier, there was provision of annual scholarship of Rs 56 crore for minority students which has now been increased to Rs 100 crore in BJP tenure.


State Government is giving 50% relief in educational fees for students from minority students taking education from private engineering and higher education institutions. Besides, skill development sessions are also being conducted at institutions.


Nitin Gadkari said, Sufi Saints had always spread message of love and peace among the people. “For social transformation, inculcating moral values and education is important. Thus, it is necessary to spread education among all those who are deprived from basic education,” he said.
Hansarj Ahir praised the organisers for such an unique initiative of conducting international conference on Sufism and Humanity. While addressing the gathering Ahir stressed on making optimum use of our rich and vast range of knowledge and our youth power. Ahmed Shareef Khan, Vice-President, compered the event while Sharique Sheikh, Head, Munazzamah Falaahiyyah proposed a vote of thanks.
