The festival of lights’Diwali’ is round the corner and the city is flickering with the prior celebration preparations with extreme zeal.  Diwali is one of the most significant festivals in Indian culture and almost everyone’s favourite. On this pious occasion, people worship Goddess Lakshmi with devotion and glee. Special puja is offered to the Goddess, idol of Goddess Lakshmi is brought home for Diwali where it is established for the puja.


The market is all set with the varieties of idols in every size and colour. The idols are being sold in the city markets including New Market, Old City Market, 10 No. Market, city malls, etc. Sculptors have done really great job by presenting a variety of adorable Goddess Lakshmi in different color combinations that are attracting a large number of people. From traditional clay or white chalk idols to gold and silver coated metal idols with tremendous finishing, the wide range of these beautiful idols of Goddess Lakshmi are available in the market.


This availability has allowed every section of society to splurge upon and opt for the idols that fit into their budgets. The idols are available in the market from cheap to the most expensive prices.  The purchasing of idol of Goddess Lakshmi and clay earthen lamps has been started in the market.


Market has a festive look since one month long, as many festivals are back to back being celebrated with glee.
The markets are flooded with various decorating stuffs to mark the Diwali celebration. City markets including New Market, 10. No Market, City Market, city malls are being witnessed with large number of people thronging to buy different items for Diwali.


According to a shopkeeper Sonu in New Market, people have started looking for the idols of Goddess Lakshmi and earthen lamps in the market.
The Goddess idols are still being ready and the coloring part is being done at various places. Some of the people buy idols two or three days prior of Diwali. The idols are available in the market in affordable prices.


Beautiful idols of Goddess Durga are being sold in the city markets. People are buying these stuffs in large number. While some people decorative earthen lamps at their homes. Many people have made idol of Goddess Lakshmi by their own and coloured it beautifully with great devotion in the Goddess.


Diwali is the most awaited festival in India, celebrated with fervour, bliss and togetherness. It is one of the major festivals of Hinduism which spiritually signifies the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, knowledge over ignorance, and hope over despair. 
City is going to witness celebration on November 7, Wednesday with gusto.
