Dacoity bid at petrol pump foiled, six men arrested

“RATIBAD police foiled a dacoity bid at a petrol pump and arrested six armed members of Irani gang from near Badjhiri while planning a robbery on Saturday night. The accused confessed to 8 robberies. Police recovered eight gold chains worth Rs 3 lakh from their possession,” informed DIG Bhopal Dharmendra Choudhary while speaking to the mediapersons on Sunday. DIG Choudhary said that a police team swung into action after receiving information of masked armed miscreants near Agrawal petrol pump in Badjhiri and nabbed six miscreants.

Iron rod, wooden stick, chili powder and wire cutter and plier were recovered from them. In initial investigation, when dacoits were questioned they confirmed that they were planning a dacoity at Agrawal petrol pump late in the night but were nabbed while they were planning dacoity.
During investigation, police found that the accused were involved in 8 robberies in past 10 months in different parts of the State capital. Police have recovered 8 gold chains worth Rs 3 lakh from their possession.

The six accused have been identified as Hamid Khan alias Yaseen Khan (25), Mohammad Ali (31), Abuzar Ali (19), Shabbir Ali (59), Kajim Ali (25) and Mohammad Sikandar (26). All the miscreants are residents of Hoshangabad. After preliminary investigations, police have registered a case under Sections 399 and 402 of the IPC and Sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act.
