Police carry out patrolling exercise in Sadar Bazaar ahead of festive season

Aiming to prevent incidents of burglary and loot during coming festive season, Raipur police on Sunday carried out patrolling exercise in Sadar Bazaar and directed jewellers to carryout police verification of their staff and goldsmiths.
Following the directives of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Amresh Mishra, police teams gave specific instructions to jewelers in Sadar Bazaar regarding verification of their employees. Meanwhile, police personnel also instructed jewelers to immediately alert police in case of any suspicious movement.


Police have already intensified patrolling across the city and also keeping close vigil at jewellery showrooms, banks and other places in the city where big amount of cash transaction would take place as a part of festival marketing. To keep close watch across the city, Raipur Police has formed a special team of 40 personnel including the sleuths of Central Crime Branch (CCB), personnel from police stations and lines. Points and locations these teams have already been assigned. Notably, for first time, Raipur police have inducted female personnel in such exercise.


CCB and local police have also stimulated it information network and informers to track on the movement of interstate gang which may possibly reach the city in view of festivals.
