Street plays to motivate young voters staged

To increase participation of young voters in Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh Election watch and ADR jointly organised a street play competition on Sunday. The competition was organised to promote voting in urban areas and to aware voters of importance of voting. This competition was organised for the first time in city. As many as 10 teams from different colleges of the city took part in the competition staging street plays.

On Sunday, two teams staged plays at Boat Club and MP Nagar. They gave messages like ‘Na daru se na note se, Hum desh badalenge vote se’, ‘Apna vote hi apna desh hai’, ‘Hamara ek vote desh ki tasveer aur taqdeer badal sakta hai’.
Team Newton and team Uddhav of LNCT College gave performance. Team Uddhav gave a message of increasing vote percentage in urban areas and Team Newton brought to fore various issues related to aware voting and gave a message. Street play competition will continue till November 1 in which street plays will be staged in different areas of the city like Iqbal Maidan, 10 number market, Railway Station, 6 number platform, Qazi camp, Yadav Tea stall and Qwality in Indrapuri.

Teams will give performances on aware voting process, choose the good, choose the honest, to increase voting percentage in urban areas, votes given in greed and others were showcased through plays. Judges in the street play competition were Shweta Ketkar of Vihaan Drama Works and artists Anil Singh.
