Inspire children for controlled use of mobile: Governor

GOVERNOR Anandiben Patel said that guardians should inspire their children for controlled use of mobile phones. She said that guardians should change children habit of using mobile phone in excessive manner.
She was addressing prize distribution function of competition organised at Raj Bhavan on Tuesday. This competition was organised to mark 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

She said that as far as use of mobile phones by children is concerned then guardians should also restrict their time of mobile phone use. Likewise, subject of using mobile phone should be also restricted.
She said that children must be informed about the harms of mobile phones. Parents should also minimise use of mobile phones.

She said that parents should inculcate habit of reading books in children and they should be imparted general knowledge. She said that speeches and drawings of the participants should be published. She suggested that speeches and drawings of children participating in contests in schools should be published in book form. This will motivate children taking admissions. Trophies and certificates were distributed to winners students. Children of different schools, children of Raj Bhavan’s employees and officers have participated in various competitions including speech competition, debate and drawing. Moreover, awards were also given to winners under the cleanliness survey carried out in houses of Raj Bhavan employees. The competitions were organised in collaboration of School Education Department.

Secretary to Governor, D D Agrawal, officers of School Education Department, senior officers of Raj Bhavan, teachers and parents were present on the occasion.
