SEVAGRAM,

CONGRESS President Rahul Gandhi launched a frontal attack against the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday at Wardha while accusing the Prime Minister of misleading and not fulfilling any of the promises made during last elections.

Raising the issue of remunerative prices to farmers and promise of Rs 15 lakh to each Indian, Rahul Gandhi lashed out at Modi Government and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for not honouring the commitment. On the contrary, farmers are getting a raw-deal under present dispensation, he claimed while promising a better future, if Congress is voted to power.

Addressing a mammoth gathering at Circus Ground in Ram Nagar, Wardha, he virtually launched Congress Party’s election campaign after chairing Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting. AICC President promised complete loan waiver to farmers and jobs to unemployed youths, if Congress is voted to power.

Congress observed 150th anniversary of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi at Sevagram and Wardha. UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh were present on the dais. Congress stalwarts including Ashok Gehlot, Mallikarjun Kharge, P Chidambaram, Sushil Kumar Shinde, Gulam Nabi Azad, Jyotirditya Scindia, Mukul Wasnik, Avinash Pande, Ashok Chavan Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, Vilas Muttemwar, Dr Nitin Raut, Nana Patole and others were present on the dais.

Charging Modi Government with helping big industrialists and for waiving loan worth Rs 3.20 lakh crore, Congress President alleged that instead of giving loan waiver to farmers, Government was helping few industrialists only. In his quite aggressive speech, Gandhi targeted Prime Minister and accused his Government with hob-nobbing with big industrialists and allowing them to dupe public sector banks. Raising the Rafale deal issue, he once again charged that Modi has given a bailout package to Anil Ambani by giving him Rafale deal. MPCC President Ashok Chavan also addressed the gathering.
