Now, poors will get best treatment at DKS Super Speciality Hospital

“Poor people in the State will now get best treatment at the first ever government Super Speciality hospital equipped with Gama Camera and PET scan facilities in State Capital,” stated Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh during inauguration of much awaited Dau Kalyan Singh Super Speciality Hospital on Tuesday evening. On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Late Lal Bahadur Shastri, the residents of the capital, got the facility of Dau Kalyan Singh Super Speciality Hospital uplifted at a cost of about Rs 140 crore.


Health Secretary Niharika Barik in her welcome address informed about the facilities available for public. Speaking on the occasion, Minister of Health and Medical Education Ajay Chandrakar appreciated the efforts made for the up-liftment of hospital. Agriculture Minister Brijmohan Agarwal said the hospital will fulfil the medical needs of every patient.


Public Works Minister Rajesh Murat, Lok Sabha MP Ramesh Bais, Shreechand Sundarani, Commissioner and Director Health Services R Prasanna, other senior public representatives, a large number of civilians, doctors and officers were present. Large numbers of people from Agrawal Samaj and family members of Dau Kalyan Singh were present on the occasion.


It is notable that before the formation of the state, DKS hospital was operated in the name of Darveer Dau Kalyan Singh. After the establishment of the state in November 2000, the Mantralaya was established in Raipur. In the year 2012, Mantralaya started functioning in Mahanadi Bhawan, built in Naya Raipur, now Atal Nagar.


Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh decided to develop this hospital building as a super speciality hospital for the convenience of people after the building was vacated the DK Hospital Bhavan and today he inaugurated it on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. Equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipments and facilities, 125-bed Critical Care Unit has also been set up in this hospital. The hospital building has been built in 13.8 acres. Out of the hospital, 80 doctors, 218 nursing staff, 210 paramedical and other staff will be equipped with 280 housekeeping staff, 180 security staff and 105 medical records and maintenance personnel from the outsourcing staff.


A post-graduate institute and research centre under the name of Dau Kalyan Singh have also been built at Super Specialty Hospital Bhawan, where high level medical education facilities are available. Patients will get good services at affordable rates at super speciality hospital.
Medical students and patients will also get the benefit of the post Graduate Institute status. There will also be the largest state-of-the-art Dialysis System, where Hepatitis B, Hepatitis-C and HIV positive patients will get dialysis facility. There will be separate system of dialysis for children and the elderly.


Apart from this, the facility of Liver Dialysis is going to start here. Currently this facility is only available in Delhi. There will also be arrangements for 20 beds of state-of-the-art burn unit including city scan etc.
This is the first such government hospital in the country where Waste and Lenin Management System has
been established.
