Second edition of Gorewada Forest Festival begins

The second edition of the Gorewada Forest Festival Wildlife Week has finally begun with an overwhelming response on Tuesday. The forest run, which was scheduled on the October 2, saw a great participation of more than 250 people hailing from all over Vidarbha. Umesh Agrawal, Principal Chief Conservator of Forest & Head of the Forest Force, flagged off the 8.5 km run at 5.30 am, the second fun run was flagged of by Nandkishor Kale, Divisional Manager Gorewada .

The activities, like night safari, forest run, cyclathon, nature walk, photo walk, and art festival, which garnered an overwhelming response last year, will take place this year as well but with a renewed zest. Some new activities, like Yoga and meditation, Junglebandi (a Hindi ‘nature songs’ singing competition), and Mowgli Parade (‘The Jungle Book’ fancy dress competition) have also been included in the list. Face painting and Segway rides will also feature this year, while food stalls have been given special attention to cater to wider tastes.

The entire event is supported by Dr Ram Babu, Managing Director, FDCM, J P Tripathi, RM Gorewada, Nandkishore Kale, Divisional Manager Gorewada, Rathod ACF and other officials of FDCM. The team of Rotary Club of Nagpur actively involved in the project : President of Rotary Club of Nagpur Kapil Bahri, Rt/Ann Vinita Bahri, Rtn Navneet Jain, Past President Rtn Rina Sinha, Past President Bharat Goenka, Past Presdient Sanjiv Chugh and other members of the Rotary Club of Nagpur.
