Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh on Monday visited senior BJP leader from Dantewada Nandlal Mudiyami undergoing treatment in a hospital in the capital and enquired about his progress.

It is worth mentioning here that Nandlal Mudiyami, a member of Dantewada Zila Panchayat and senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader from Dantewada was seriously injured when he was attacked with sharp edged weapons by suspected Maoists at his residence situated in Palnaar village in the restive Dantewada district on Sunday late evening. On getting information police had rushed to his residence from where Mudiyami was rushed to Dantewada district hospital. Later he was airlifted to Raipur for better medical care. The doctors attending to him termed his condition to be critical.

The Chief Minister while praying for his quick recovery asked the doctors to provide best medical care. Later talking to media persons, the Chief Minister expressed his anguish while stating that the Maoists are against democracy. On one side security personnel are getting martyred on the other the Maoists have now started attacking party workers, which is highly painful. He said there is no alternative to peace and development and that our security forces are very charged up and they are fighting the menace of Left Wing Extremism with complete might.

The Chief Minister further added that Mudiyami is recovering fast. He said he had discussed with his family members and assured them of all possible assistance. The Chief Minister also enquired about the condition of CRPF troopers who were injured from Saturday’s incident and are admitted in the same hospital in the capital.

It is worth mentioning here that the Maoists have called upon the people in LWE affected areas to boycott the Assembly General Elections and that those who’ll exercise their franchise will have to face dire consequences. Polling under first phase covering 18 Assembly constituencies in eight LWE affected districts including Sukma, Bijapur, Dantewada, Narayanpur, Bastar, Kanker, Kondagaon and Rajnandgaon is due on November 12.
