Install CCTV at entrance routes of city, Collector to officers

Collector Chhavi Bhardwaj while addressing a meeting conducted at Collectorate on Monday, instructed the officers to install the Close Circuit Tele Vision Cameras (CCTV) at the entrance routes of city.

Reviewing the election preparation, she said that officers should discharge their duties alertly and seriously. She also instructed the officers to complete the process of issuing the photo identity cards to ‘Divyang Mitra’ to assist the handicap people during the voting, by November 1 at any cost. She also sought information about providing all the facilities to Divyang voters at every polling center. Reviewing the works of expenditure monitoring cell, she stressed on strengthening the system for monitoring the election expenditure. She said that the CCTV cameras would be installed at the entry routes of city at six places to keep a hawk's eye over the entry of suspicious people. Through these CCTV cameras entry of people in to city would be monitored from control room established at collectorate office.

The Night Vision Cameras would also be installed at the entry routes of city. Collector also instructed to deploy the SST at areas which are sensitive by the point of view of election expenditure and also to display areas where SST and FST were deployed on the map of district at collectorate. The mock drill for SST and FST should also be conducted on November 3 and its documentation should be completed properly. The officers of election monitoring cell were also instructed to prepare the schedule of the inspection of the election expenditure account of the candidates contesting election.

She also sought information about action being taken to deploy employees to distribute and receive the polling material and instructed to complete it by November 1. She also instructed to distribute the Identity Cards amongst the employees deployed to discharge election duty, during the training to be conducted on November 17, 2018. The District Election portal and District Election Atlas would be released in presence of officers of Election Commission of India on November 13. The officers of Election Commission of India would review the preparation for election, on this day.

The Collector also instructed the officers to pay the honorarium to the employees deployed for election duty, through their bank accounts before the election on November 26 by the evening. Instructions to check the bank details of the officers and employees sent to treasury, were also given. If the honorarium is not paid to the polling party members timely, action would be taken against the concerned officer. Necessary instructions were also given to the officers to make boarding and lodging arrangements for polling party.

She said that similar breakfast and food should be served to the employees deployed at polling centers. Instructions to prepare the standard menu were also given.The parameters determined for hoardings should be followed strictly and not more than 20 per cent hoardings should be allocated to single political party. Ten percent hoarding should be reserved for the non party candidates.
