People’s University organises Vyakhyanmala to inspire students for eco-friendly Diwali

Celebrate green Diwali clean Diwali with green crackers: People’s University

A Vyakhyanmala was organised by People’s University for inspiring the students to celebrate eco-friendly Green Diwali Clean Diwali at People’s University premises on Monday.
People’s Group Director Mayank Vishnoi welcomed National Green Tribunal’s Judicial Member Justice Daleep Singh by presenting him Tulsi plant. People’s Group Academic Director Dr VK Pandya welcomed Madhya Pradesh Pollution Control Board Regional Director Dr PS Bundela. People’s University Chancellor Dr Rajesh Kapoor welcomed all through his welcome note and inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp.


NGT’s Judicial Member Justice Daleep Singh addressing the students of the university recalled them for celebrating Green Diwali Clean Diwali through green crackers. Singh said that how the chemical used firecrackers become cause of pollution and how the citizens should contribute to check pollution.


Justice Daleep Singh said that earlier the firecrackers of low sound were sold in the market but now imported bombs which become cause of heap of garbage and smoke are being sold in our country. This smoke having several kinds of toxic gases becomes cause of making the air impure and people face difficulty in breathing. Daleep Singh giving message of clean ‘Diwali green Diwali’ appealed all to perform duty of a responsible citizen.


Madhya Pradesh Pollution Control Board Regional Director Dr PS Bundela delivering lecture informed the students about the activities for pollution control. He also informed about the several decisions of Supreme Court. One of the decisions was about using green crackers.
Bundela said that eco-friendly crackers or green crackers have less smoke, less chemicals and less noise and the firecrackers being used today are called red crackers which increase pollution a lot and controlling it is in interest of citizens.


People’s University Chancellor Dr Rajesh Kapoor and People’s Group Academic Director Dr VK Pandya felicitated NGT Judicial Member Justice Daleep Singh by presenting him memento.
Dr VK Pandya proposed vote of thanks and appealed to take pledge to celebrate Diwali with green crackers and to aware people for green and clean Diwali.


People’s Group Director Megha Vijaywargia, Dr SS Pandya, scientist MP Pollution Control Board, Naveen Vijaywargia, Chief Finance Officer, People’s Group, Dr Neerja Mallik, Registrar People’s University, unit heads, deans, HoDs, lecturers of People’s University were present prominently on the occasion. A large number of students of People’s University participated in awareness programme.
