A delegation of Chhattisgarh State Youth Congress has lodged a complaint with the Chhattisgarh Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) against a Public Works Department (PWD) officer posted in Raipur persistently for past 10 years.

In a written complaint, CG Youth Congress Spokesperson Sheikh Musheer told the CEO that PWD Officer R Nashine was first posted in Raipur 10 years ago and he has been here ever since. “The reason why PWD officer is glued to the same place is his closeness to an influential Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) functionary even as the officer was one of the accused in the Circuit House roof collapse incident,” Musheer alleged and added further that the officer must be transferred outside the Raipur. It’s to be noted that first complaint against PWD officer was filed by Chhattisgarh RTI Activists Association (CRTIAA) just few days ago, in which it had demanded the CEO Subrat Sahoo to immediately transfer R Nashine on the grounds that the latter may indirectly influence the legislative elections.

CRTIAA office-bearer Sanjay Singh Thakur while lodging a complaint with the poll panel had alleged that Nashine has been posted in State Capital for over past 10 years. In 2008, the officer was posted as Sub-Engineer (SE) in Raipur division and later elevated to Sub Divisional Officer (SDO) rank here only. At present, he is In-charge Executive Engineer in the department and currently, posted in Raipur district. His job profile also includes supervision of Circuit House, at Civil Lines, he added.

Thakur also charged that the officer has been posted in the district during 2008 and 2013 assembly as well as general elections, and now with 2018 elections round the bend, he still continues to be in Raipur.
