‘Hungry for Haldiram’s Cooking Contest-2018’ held

HALDIRAM’S the taste of tradition, in a thirst of adding more to its legacy by creating tradition for tomorrow, has organised a ‘Hungry for Haldiram’s Cooking Contest-2018’ on Tuesday at its Shankar Nagar outlet.


Recipes were invited from all over the country between October 10 and October 20. The participants were asked to upload their recipes on ‘Hungry for Haldiram’s Food’ page on Facebook and Instagram. While the city contestant were advised to drop their recipes at the Haldiram’s outlets in city. The board of directors of Haldiram’s shortlisted 12 entries from all over the country.


They include Rahinee Deshkar, Khadija Kagazwala, Kiran Doshi; Lavina Mangalani and Savita Vajani (all from Nagpur), Nilofar Isani from Kaner; Kinial Rathod from Durg, Abinas Nayak from Hyderabad, Amol Mohanty from Bhuwaneswar; K Shradha from Amar; Asiyah Naveed Roghay from Mumbai and Seema Shiju from Trivendrum, All the 12 contestants under the celebrity chef Kunal Kapoor, for 75 minutes made delicious recipes based with Haldiram’s products. Recipes like Haldiram Bundi cutlet, Rasgulle ki Sabji and Litti Choka Cone were prepared by the contestants.


Avin Agrawal, Neeraj Agrawal, directors of Haldiram’s along with celebrity chef Kunal Kapoor had a tough time while judging the contestants. Abinas Nayak was declared first winner, Nilofar Isani was the first runner-up and Amol Mohanty as the second runner-up. Abinas was awarded a gift hamper of Rs 42,000, certificate and a trophy. Nilofar Isani won gift hamper worth Rs 25,200, certificate and a trophy and Amol Mohanty received Haldiram’s gift hamper worth Rs 13,200 a certificate and a trophy. The winners were awarded at the hands of Shivkishan Agrawal, Chairman of Haldiram Food International Pvt Limited.


“Haldiram’s is the best, but you have innovated best out of the best,” Shivkishan Agrawal said. The ‘Bhujiya’ man also explained the multiple use of ‘Bhujiya’ on different occasions. “Khana (food) is an instant connect with people. Haldiram’s is taking incredible efforts to bring innovative ideas and make people enjoy cooking and eating too. I am impressed and happy with your dishes,” said celebrity chef Kunal Kapoor.


Anshita Agrawal, Director of Haldiram’s said, “We received overwhelming response from the people for our Hungry for Haldiram’s, where Kunal Kapoor had shown various dishes. We wished to give chance to people, through this platform to showcase the innovative cookery talent.” Anshita and Shruti were the organisers of the event.
