Brigadier Rajesh Negi flags off cycle rally

A cycle rally was organised by Jammu and Kashmir Rifles Regimental Centre under the aegis of Headquarters Madhya Bharat Area from Sadar Bazar to Dumna Nature Park and back to mark the conclusion of fifteen day cleanliness drive in the military Cantonment area. The rally was flagged off by Brigadier Rajesh Negi, Commandant Jammu and Kashmir Rifles Regimental Centre and President Cantonment Board Jabalpur.

The objective of the rally was to promote the Prime Minister’s noble mission of ‘Swachhta Hi Seva Campaign’ and to ensure a high standard of cleanliness across Jabalpur green and clean cantonment. Speaking on the occasion Brigadier Rajesh Negi, President Cantonment Board said that cleanliness should be way of life. Every citizen should shoulder responsibility to keep the surrounding clean, healthy and green.

The abhiyan was formally launched in the Military Cantonment area on September 18. The soldiers, their families and teaching staff were fully involved to get the Military Cantonment neat and clean and sensitizing their peer groups to assume collective responsibility for nation’s cleanliness. All departments and various centres of the cantonment launched cleanliness drive by cleaning lawns, open spaces, roads, and sewage system, over and above the routine cleaning carried out by the sanitation department.

Under this Abhiyan, slogan writings, poster makings, film screenings, skits, awareness rallies, street plays, debate competitions, etc were also organised by the various departments in collaboration with residents, teachers and students for the success of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
The motive behind organising the rally was to create awareness among the general masses about the importance of Swacch Bharat Abhiyan so that every citizen come forward for extending their helping hands in maintaining the surroundings. The rally stopped at various places enroute and cleaned the surrounding areas.
