IIIT hosts programmes to mark Gandhi Jayanti

Students of International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) celebrated the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi in its Atal Nagar campus with a host of programmes ranging from digital payment awareness camp, Blood Donation Camp, Padyatra: Walk4Change, “Gandhi’s Dream of India” — Painting Competition and Elocution Competition (English/Hindi).

Entire campus community including staff and students participated in all the programmes in great zeal and numbers.
The day started with the Padyatra: Walk4Change at 6.30 AM with the pledge to bring about the change in the society as envisaged by Mahatmaji. It was followed by painting and elocution competition based on Gandhi’s dream and thoughts.
At about 11 AM, Blood donation camp started in collaboration with AIIMS Raipur in which more than 50 units of blood were donated by the faculty, staff and students.

The day before evening saw a Mela for building awareness on digital payments which was sponsored by Department of Telecommunications. All the programmes were organised under the auspices of Student Activities Centre (SAC) and supervised by Dr. U Venkanna.
