Amit Shah to address mega congregation of BJP Mahila Morcha

Over 1 lakh women to attend the programme

Bharatiya Janata Party National President Amit Shah will be in Chhattisgarh on Friday where he will be addressing mega Adivasi Sammelan at Narharpur in Kanker district and approximately 1 lakh women members of BJP Mahila Morcha at a state-level BJP Mahila Morcha convention to be held at Charoda in Durg district.  The BJP National President will reach Swami Vivekananda Airport, Raipur at 10.30am on October 5 on a day long visit.

Soon after Shah will leave for Sihawa Ashram in Dhamtari district, where he will meet the saints under the Sampark for Samarthan programme of Bharatiya Janata Party and seek their blessings. Thereafter, the BJP National President will participate in tendu-patta bonus distribution festival at Naharpur in Kanker district at 12 Noon which will be followed by addressing a mega Adivasi Sammelan there.
Later at 1.40pm, he will be having lunch with the members of Adivasi community.

The BJP National President will reach Charoda in Durg district at 3pm and address the mega congregation of BJP Mahila Morcha. After the function the BJP National President will be meeting Gujarati community in Bhilai at Gujarati Samaj Sammelan at 4.40pm.

Addressing media persons at a press conference about the mega BJP Mahila Morcha congregation, BJP National General Secretary and Mahila Morcha Convention Convener Saroj Pandey said this will be maiden visit of the BJP National President in Durg district. She said being a women leader of a political party and since her days as Durg Mayor, she had been facing several problems being a woman, hence the party’s priority has been always to give priority to subjects pertaining to women.

The BJP’s objective in this direction has always been to ensure maximum participation of women in public life, get maximum benefits from government schemes, women should have easy reach to the government and along with executing their domestic responsibilities they should also contribute to political, social and cultural life. Pandey said she’s happy to state that Bharatiya Janata Party is one such party which has always set an example for others by providing opportunity to women in political arena. She said the party had taken up the issue of women’s reservation and had fought numerous battles right from street to parliament. She said the BJP has always ensured 33 percent women participation and it is the only party which provides reservation to women.

Pandey further added that the BJP government here under Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh, has done considerably for the empowerment and upliftment of women in last 15 years. Since NDA government came to power in centre under PM Narendra Modi, he has thought for the women and introduced Ujjawala scheme so that the women can cook in LPG and get relief from smoky kitchens. He introduced Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, under which toilets were constructed in every household in rural and urban areas leading to restoration of women’s prestige as no more they have to go to grounds. She also extended her gratitude to the Prime Minister for introducing Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao scheme.

In Chhattisgarh, Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh has introduced Noni Suraksha Yojna, giving smart phones to women under SKY, 2 percent rebate in registry of properties, Kanyadaan Yojna, Saraswati Cycle Yojna as well as many such schemes.

She also praised state government’s initiative towards increasing institutional delivery, effective control on MMR and IMR, providing opportunities to women upto age of 45 years in government service, etc have also aided towards women empowerment. Pandey said the National President will be addressing the BJP Mahila Morcha workers and office-bearers wherein he will be informing him about all the schemes and initiatives taken by both centre and state for women empowerment. On his arrival, the BJP National President will be given a rousing welcome as Chhattisgarhi traditions where cultural troupes will be performing in traditional attire.
