CCB arrest 3 in separate theft cases

The sleuths of Central Crime Branch (CCB) and local police have arrested three persons in connection with two separate thefts and recovered nine quintals of iron bars from their possession in Raipur, police said on Friday. The arrested were identified as Sant Ram Banjare (40), Vikram Yadav alias Shekhar (40) and Kartik Das Tandia (29), all residents of Sarora locality falling in limits of Urla police station, informed police.

Police further added that nine quintal iron bars and pipes, whose estimated market value would be around Rs 50000, were recovered from the possession of arrested thieves. Following a tip-off that a person is looking for customer for selling iron bars, CCB personnel swung into action and rounded gang’s mastermind Sant Ram Banjare.

On being subjected to interrogation, the accused admitted the crime of thefts and uttered the name of other accused.The investigation revealed that the trio has made away with iron bars placed in campus of Shyam Enterprises on September 19 and in Tirupati Industries on September 30, police said.

With the arrest of three accused, police claimed of solving the cases registered with Urla police station under section 380 (theft in dwelling house) of Indian Penal Code (IPC).
