CM Chouhan dedicates Bansujara Dam Project in Khargapur tehsil

CHIEF Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan dedicated Bansujara Dam Project in Khargapur tehsil Headquarters of Tikamgarh district on Friday. He also performed e-bhoomipujan and e-dedicated irrigation projects in Datia, Vidisha, Jabalpur, Sheopur and Rajgarh districts. Chouhan saw the model of Bansujara Dam project and gathered information about its functioning.

Chouhan said that irrigation area has been enhanced to 40 lakh hectare by increasing it by 6 times in the last 15 years. He further mentioned that the State Government is making efforts to enhance it further to 80 lakh hectare.

While informing about schemes of agriculture development and farmers welfare, Chouhan said that the day is not too far when Madhya Pradesh will move ahead of Punjab and Haryana in agriculture production.

321 villages to get water for irrigation and drinking:

Chouhan informed that Bansujara Dam Project will facilitate irrigation on 75,000 hectare area of 321 villages of Tikamgarh and Chhattarpur district along with drinking water. He said that the project has been named Bansujara because it is located in the middle of Ban village of Chhattarpur district and Sujara village of Tiikamgarh district. The dam having 2500 meter length water storing capacity of over 316million cubic meter, he added.

Union Minister of State for Women and Child Development and Minority Affairs Dr Virendra Kumar, MLAs K K Vastava, Anita Sunil Nayak and Anil Jain, Jila Panchayat President Parvatlal Ahirwar and other public representatives, farmers and villagers were present on the occasion in large numbers.
