Governor reviews TB control programmes

Governor Anandiben Patel held a meeting with officers at Raj Bhavan to review tuberculosis (TB) control programmes. The TB control programmes are being run by the Chhattisgarh Red Cross Society and Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Chhattisgarh. 

The Governor directed the officers to launch a campaign to make the state TB free. TB affected places should be identified. A work plan should be made for the TB affected areas, the Governor told the officers. Anandiben Patel asked the officers to connect the rich people for TB control programmes that they can be helpful to check TB cases among the children. Nutritious food items like gram, fruits and other items should be distributed among the TB patients, she added.

The Governor also suggested the officers to connect NCC cadets, NSS volunteers and other social workers with the TB control programmes. Commissioner of Health and Family Welfare Department R Prasanna informed that TB control centres have been set up in all districts of State.

There are 155 TB treatment centres and 769 TV check-up centres in the state. Secretary to Governor Surendra Kumar Jaiswal, Director of Social Welfare Department Sanjay Alang, officers and representatives from NGOs attended the meeting.
