Nitin Gadkari asks youths to be innovative

While inaugurating the Start-Up Fest 2018 here on Saturday, Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shipping and Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, urged the youths to be innovative, undertake research and make use of modern technology to create wealth.  The festival being organised here is aimed at promoting entrepreneurial spirit among the Nagpurians especially the youths.


It also aims to provide the start-ups and budding entrepreneurs a platform to showcase their potential and discuss roadblocks where every start-up has difficulty in envisioning a long-term successful venture.
The festival is organised by Indian Council for Technical Research and Development in association of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) at Kavi Suresh Bhat Sabhagruha, Reshimbagh. Mayor Nanda Jichkar, Prof Anil Sole, MLC, Ajay Sancheti, former MP, Datta Meghe, former MP, Sandeep Joshi, Leader of the Ruling Party in NMC and Chairman MSSIDC, Ravindra Thakre, Commissioner (Officiating) NMC, Pramod Yawale, Pro Vice-Chancellor, RTMNU, Dr Ramnath Sonawane, CEO Smart City, Shweta Shalini, MD, Shivani Dani, Devendra Dave, Ketan Mohitkar, Programme Co-ordinator, Gaurav Mishra and others were among the prominent persons who attended the event.


Gadkari further added that the youth must have a strong desire to achieve big in life.  “It also needs appropriate planning, clear thoughts and innovative idea,” he said the huge opportunities available for the youths.
In an attempt to motivate the participating youths to take up entrepreneurship, the Nagpur MP asked them whether they like to be a job giver or a job seeker. The youths positively responded saying that they wish to be the job givers. Gadkari narrated many projects which today’s youth can take up.


In her speech, Jichkar expressed faith in the Start-Up Fest 2018 which according to her could prove beneficial to the youths. “It will bring out hidden talent in the youths and also encourage them to think out of the box,” she said.
Gaurav Mishra and Ketan Mohitkar made the opening remarks. Such programmes will be a energy booster in building a start-up eco system in city.


‘Start-up ideas through social media and glamour’ was the theam of the day. Different experts from various field guided the participants in the day-long programme. Omkar Bhosle and Aniket Thakur, both young entrepreneurs shared their success stories.  Dr Hemant Sonare, Dr Rajesh Gadewar, Dr Yogita Kasture, Prashant Kade, Ashish Sasankar and team of Nagpur Start-Up Fest worked hard for the success of the programme.
