450 commuters challaned for flouting traffic rules in Bhilai

Traffic police challaned 450 commuters for discouraging the practice of displaying designation, cryptic number plates, tinted window pans and pressure horns in the vehicles in a special vehicle checking drive undertaken at prominent intersection across twin city of Bhilai and Durg on Sunday.

According to information, on Sunday, while undertaking vehicle checking drive at prominent intersections within twin city of Bhilai and Durg, traffic police conducted checking of over 600 vehicles and challaned as many as 450 commuters for flouting traffic regulations by displaying cryptic number plates, not using seat belt, for tinted window pans, using pressure horns, putting flags on their vehicles and for other such practices. Among the erring commuters traffic police challaned about 200 two-wheeler riders for triple riding in the daylong vehicle checking drive that was conducted at 20 different points within the twin city.

The traffic teams in personal supervision of Traffic Inspector, Sub-inspector and Assistant Sub-inspector launched the drive at different locations and it would be continued in days to come. The vehicle checking drive is being conducted in compliance of directives issued by senior police officials for ensuring strict abidance of traffic regulations.
