Cops take out parade, hold mock drill to control violent protest

A day after model code of conduct came into existence in Madhya Pradesh, the State capital police on Sunday morning organised a parade where Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Dharmendra Choudhary undertook the inspection at Nehru Nagar Police line. During the event all superintendents of Police, Additional SPs, City SPs, DSPs and SDOPs and around 450 police personals from Police line, control room and traffic police also remain present.


The event concluded with a mock drill of rehearsal to control violent protest. After the completion of parade, the rehearsal for controlling riot begins on the theme of protest against hike in school fees. Students were protesting with their demands.
Officials of the concerned departments responded and acted accordingly. Despite various attempts to control the protest with counseling the protes

t turns violent so police have to use force against agitators.
During the exercise, police used water cannon, mobbed tear gas shells and at the end the opened fire as the mob may leads to casualties. Two person including leader of the students were injured after fire after which police sent them to hospital. DIG Choudhary said such exercises were important to prepare for any emergency situations
and to maintain law and order in such cases.
