Couple dupes Syndicate Bank of Rs 15 lakh in car loan fraud

Ganeshpeth police booked a couple for duping Gandhibag branch of Syndicate Bank to the tune of Rs 15 lakh in car loan fraud. The accused have been identified as Swapnil Jaikumar Dixit, Punam Swapnil Dixit, both residents of Plot No. 52, Congress Nagar.


According to police, the accused applied for a loan of Rs 15 lakh to purchase a car - BMW 320 in May this year. The couple allegedly submitted forged documents and credited the loan amount in their fake bank accounts. As the accused defaulted installments, the bank officials conducted an inquiry and unearthed the fraud.


On the basis of complaint given by Branch Manager Ashish Indrachandra Prasad (35), Ganeshpeth police booked the accused under Sections 420, 406, 465, 467, 471, 472, 473,
474 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code.
