Developmental works will reach Banjara settlements, assures CM

Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister, reiterated that State Government was committed to all-round development of Banjara community, and assured the community that the benefits of development would percolate to their settlements.

Fadnavis was speaking at a Gor Banjara get-together held at Jawahar Vasatigruha here on Sunday. Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways; Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Guardian Minister of Nagpur district; Nilay Naik, MLC; Kisan Rathod, Shweta Shalini, Mahant Sunil Maharaj, Jitendra Maharaj, Atmaram Chavan, Shyam Rathod, Pragati Patil, Pravin Pawar also shared the dais on the occasion.

The Chief Minister recalled that Gor Banjara community had a glorious history and it had contributed to social good from time to time. He appreciated the peace-loving community for conserving its culture, traditions, and self-esteem. He assured the gathering that the Government would start a scheme ‘Sevalal Maharaj Tanda-Rasta Poch Yojana’ soon to construct roads till settlements of Banjara community. He shed light on the contribution of Sevalal Maharaj.

Highlighting the works done under Pohradevi development plan, Fadnavis said that the Government had made available ample funds for carrying out developmental works. “Facilities are being created for devotees visiting Pohradevi, which is a pilgrim place,” he said. Also, he informed the gathering about Jalyukta Shivar Abhiyan, desilting of lakes, water conservation works etc.

Gadkari emphasised that the Government was focussing on irrigation development as it would help improve the financial health of the farmers. Also, he spoke about road works, deepening of rivers and nullahs, water conservation works, and plans for connecting Banjara settlements with main roads. Nilay Naik, Kisan Rathod, Shweta Shalini and others also spoke on the occasion.  Pravin Pawar proposed a vote of thanks.
