Exporters should avail facilities of ECGC: Desurkar

ECGC Limited, Nagpur Branch organised a meeting for its policy holders and exporters recently. The primary objective of the meeting was to provide detail information about the policy of ECGC LTd to the exporters or policy holders.
Nitin Vaidhya, Assistant Manager of ECGC, Nagpur Branch welcomed the exporters. Vivek Yadav, Executive Officer, informed about the necessary procedures required under the policy ‘Do’s & Don’t’s.’


Rajesh Desurkar, Branch Manager of ECGC, Nagpur said ECGC Ltd., formerly known as Export Credit Guarantee Corporation of India Ltd., is a wholly owned by Government of India and was set up in 1957 with the objective of promoting exports from the country by providing credit risk insurance and related services for exports. “ECGC is essentially an export promotion organisation, seeking to improve the competitiveness of the Indian exporters by providing them with credit insurance covers. ECGC keeps its premium rates at the optimal level,” he said.


Desurkar said, ECGC Ltd provides a range of credit risk insurance covers to exporters against loss in export of goods and services. It offers export credit insurance covers to banks and financial institutions to enable exporters to obtain better facilities from them.


It also offers overseas investment insurance to Indian companies investing in joint ventures abroad in the form of equity or loan. He gave information the Corporation’s policy, claim procedures in simple language.


He called upon exporters to avail the facilities provided by the ECGC Ltd. Rajesh Desurkar, Nitin Vaidhya and Vivek Yadav satisfactorily replied to the queries of the participants.


Hemant R Waghmare, District Project Officer of Maharashtra Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (MCED) was special invitee at the programme.
Waghmare introduced environment-friendly cloth bag supporting the ‘Swachch Bharat’ initiative. The bags were distributed to all the participants.
Speaking on the occasion, Waghmare appreciated the services provided by the Corporation to the exporters. Several exporters are already taking benefit of ECGC. About 30 exporters attended the meeting.
