Power co to ensure uninterrupted supply to farmers in Rabi season

Madhya Pradesh Central Region Power Distribution Company Limited (MPCRPDCL) is geared up to ensure proper power supply in Rabi season. Power utilities of the State will closely monitor transmission and distribution network for uninterrupted power on permanent basis and main per cent of power was being used by agriculture pump sets.


Besides it was also directed that measures need to be taken to curb tripping in urban areas and in rural areas. Any kind of interruption in power supply will not be tolerated in the areas. Field workers will pay special attention on billing and power supply for consumer satisfaction. Working in a planned manner is essential in Rabi season to facilitate farmers, load balancing should be done so that there is no problem of under-or-power over loading.


Notably, for irrigation supply in 16 districts under MPCRPDCL for advanced storage system of more than 36,000 transformers are being replaced.
For this purpose, about 81 transformer agencies have been selected for Rabi season which are working in a timely manner.


Priority is given to maintenance work, 33 KV, 11 KV and maintenance of LT line is being done fast. This has reduced tripping. The work of new sub-stations, capacity addition and upgradation of existing sub-stations and capacity addition of transformers is being done for upgradation of system at 116 rural places under the company sector. Work of about 21 new sub-centres is in progress.


Farmers will be assured power supply on adequate voltage in Rabi season. Bad transformers are being transformed by the TRT team. MPCRPDCL is geared up to ensure power to farmers for irrigation of their fields.


Most important parameter for agriculture is timely and sufficient supply of water. Most of the farmers are dependent on electric water pumps for irrigation which demands electricity. Frequent, intermittent, low voltage supply of power to agriculture sector has caused problems to farmers in the past and efforts are being made to ensure smooth supply of power.
