Wildlife Week celebrations conclude at Van Vihar National Park

Wildlife Week celebrations was concluded at Van Vihar National Park on Sunday. On the concluding day fancy dress competition and prize distribution ceremony was organised. K K Singh Additional Chief Secretary (Forest) was the chief guest in the function.


On this occasion M K Sapra, Principal chief conservator of forest, Forest force chief Shahbaz Ahmed, Dr Surendra Tiwari member State wild life board etc were present. On this occasion Kanha Bird Survey report was also released ‘The Green Calendar’. A short film Haathi rescue was also screened on the occasion. In morning session fancy dress competition was organised in which around 62 children participated.


Wildlife Week celebrations started at Van Vihar National Park on October 1.
In various competitions around 2,600 students participated in total. An extempore was also organised in 16 different categories for students in which around 64 students participated and expressed their opinion about measures to be taken for wild life conservation.


On Sunday fancy dress competition was organised in which many children participated. Wildlife Week celebrations started at Van Vihar National Park with variety of events . On first day there was painting competition in which large number of students participated. Paintings depicting the importance of wildlife and their conservation were exhibited during the competition.


The programme is being organised every year to promote wildlife conservation among public. Various programs are being held in Van Vihar during the Wildlife Week including painting exhibition, quiz, debate competition, extempore speech competition, fancy dress competition and rangoli competition to raise awareness about wild life .On second day there was bird watching and biodiversity camp, Rangoli competition for class 1 to 8, Rangoli competition open class, photography workshop and interschool competition. On October 3 there was bird watching camp, biodiversity camp and teachers workshop.


On October 4, there was bird watching camp and biodiversity workshop, awareness and creativity workshop for school students and poster exhibition. Quiz competition for class 9 to 12, semi final and final, palm painting and mehendi competition was also organised during wild life week celebrations . On October 6, there was bird watching and Youth Parliament on wildlife conservation. Concluding day witnessed fancy dress competition, photography and painting exhibition and prize distribution ceremony. In the concluding session Smita Rajora, director, Van Vihar Director expressed vote of thanks to the entire guest, dignitaries and students present in the function.
