Advance Cardiac Institute of BRAMH completes one year

Advance Cardiac Institute (ACI) of Dr BR Ambedkar Memorial Hospital (BRAMH) completed one year on Wednesday. A simple programme was organised at ACI. Chief Guest was Dr AK Chandrakar, Special Guest was Dr Abha Singh, Dean Medical College Raipur and Dr Vivek Chaudhary, Joint Director and Superintendent of BRAMH were present in the function.

Programme was conducted by Head of Cardiology Dr Smith Shrivastava and Head of Department Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery (CTVS) Dr Krishnakant Sahu in Advance Cardiac Institute. They informed about the achievements made by the department in past one year. During the year 1443 cases were solved including many complicated cases. Over 250 cardiac surgeries were performed. It was informed that twelve facilities were available in ACI. First Renal Angioplasty and stenting, first Cardiac Resynchronization Defibrillator Implantation, first Neonatal Balloon Pulmonary Valvotomy, first Ruptured Sinus of Valsalva Device Closure, first Pediatric VSD device closure, first Coarctation of Aorta Angioplasty, first Bilateral Renal Angioplasty and Stenting, first left Atrial Appendage Device Closure, first Transapical Paravalvular Leak Device Closure, first Electrophysiology study and Radiofrequency Ablation and first Balloon Aortic Valvulotomy (EF10%) are available in few cardiac centres. Dr VN Mishra, Department head medicine Dr Sharja Bhuljhele, Dr Shipra Sharma HoD Surgery, Dr Jaya Lalwani, Dr Ashray Reddy, Dr Pushplata Patel and staffs were present on the occasion.
