JCC (J) names Ajit Jogi from Marwahi, Amit Jogi not to contest

Janta Congress Chhattisgarh (Jogi) on Wednesday announced the candidature of its Founder President Ajit Jogi from Marwahi. Although there was a speculation that Marwahi MLA Amit Jogi will be contesting from Manendragarh but the JCC(J) core committee decided to field Lakhan Srivastava instead from Manendragarh. The JCC(J) also announced its candidature from Raipur (North), where it has fielded Amar Gidwani.

It is worth mentioning here that the Janta Congress Chhattisgarh (Jogi) President and former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi had earlier announced to contest against Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh from Rajnandgaon district. But later he announced that on advice from his coalition partners he decided to withdraw from Rajnandgaon and decided not to contest from any Assembly constituency. However, on heavy demand from his party workers and office-bearers, he had to change his decision and decided to contest from Marwahi.

The JCC(J) has also announced its candidate from Raipur (North) Assembly segment and fielded Amar Gidwani from there. However, the suspense of its candidature from Kota Assembly segment where Congress is yet to announce its candidature. It is being stated that if the Congress doesn’t allot ticket to Dr Renu Jogi from Kota, she’s all set to contest on JCC(J) ticket from Kota.
