Last year, on September 25, PM Narendra Modi had announced Saral Bijli Yojana. Under this Yojana, a target to provide power to every household till March 31, 2019, but MP has achieved this goal on October 22 itself. In the State, all 3 power companies have given 20 lakh connections. About 10 lakh connections of Deendayal Gram Vidyutikaran Yojana are already in process. Under Saubhagya Yojana, 20 lakh household are illuminating. Approximately 1300 crore are cost on this plan.

In the State, maximum number of power connections 1,00,623 were given in Bhind.  Other than that 88,118 connections in Shivpuri, 86,766 in Murana and 68,692 connections in Rajgarh. Most important thing is that in every small village where there were no electricity for years, on a date that villages are also electrified.

All the three power companies have worked with great planning. Because of this, we could fulfill electrification target before time of all the big states of the country. In MP, there are many places where supplying electricity was slightly difficult through wire connections so in over 15,000 places electricity has been ensured by solar energy. When the Yojana was started 42 lakh household should be counted for providing electricity connection.

The Guidance line of Saubhagya Yojana Scheme came on October 11 when the number of connections were given in about 20 lakh houses in the State. On November 30, 2018, 50 lakh cash prize will be given to the first discom or power companies who achieved the goal of 100% electrification in the State.
