Three including two students of KV, killed in road accident

In a tragic incident, three persons, including two students and conductor of vehicle ferrying children of Kendriya Vidyalaya, were killed when a speeding passenger bus hit the school bus in Atal Nagar (Naya Raipur) here on Wednesday, police said.
The accident took place in Atal Nagar under Mandir Hasaud police station at noon, Naya Raipur City Superintendent of Police (CSP) Satyendra Pandey told The Hitavada.

“After school time gets over, a private bus ferrying students towards city was dashed by a speeding bus of Rapid Transit System (BRTS) near Tayabandha square, leaving three persons dead on the spot and several others injured,” the CSP said.

The deceased were identified as two students-Aeni Kurre (of class 3rd) and Durgeshwari Dhurva (class 5th), and the bus conductor Narsingh Soni, informed police sources.

CSP Pandey further informed that around eight persons including students reported to have sustained injuries in the accident were rushed to Dr B R Ambedkar Memorial Hospital, Raipur for treatment. After being informed about the accident, police rushed to the spot for undertaking rescue task. A case was registered with Rakhi police station under Section 304A (causing death by negligence) of Indian Penal Code (IPC), said Pandey, elaborating that police is looking out for the accused driver who fled after accident fearing public wrath. The bodies of deceased have been sent to the mortuary for autopsy, said police sources.
