First list of Congress candidates delayed by a day

It was expected that Congress would be declaring first list of candidates for November 28 Assembly elections on Thursday, but nothing such happened. According to sources, the meeting witnessed open rift between Digvijay Singh and Jyotiraditya Scindia. The verbal spat between two top leaders forced Congress President Rahul Gandhi to intervene into the matter. It is learnt that Rahul Gandhi has formed a three-member committee to sort out the matter and prepare the list of Assembly candidates.

Later, Digvijay Singh tweeted that there was no argument between him and Jyotiraditya Scindia. All are united in Congress to defeat the present government in State.
It was from morning onwards that Congress leaders and workers were eagerly waiting for the declaration of first list of Assembly candidates. When the news poured in from Delhi that Digvijay Singh and Jyotiraditya Scindia had heated arguments over distribution of tickets in front of Rahul Gandhi in Delhi, they knew well that declaration of first list of candidates will not be released on Thursday and matter got postponed till Friday.

Later, news came that Rahul Gandhi has formed a three-member committee comprising Veerappa Moily and Ahmed Patel to look into the matter of selecting candidates.
Meanwhile, Congress leaders in Bhopal said that now first list of Assembly candidates will be released on Friday only.
BJP has taken potshot on development in Congress. Minister of State Vishwas Sarang said that Congress is divided in groups and differences between Digvijay Singh and Jyotiraditya Scindia will intensify in coming time. “The war of words between Digvijay Singh and Jyotiraditya Scindia reached such a level that Rahul Gandhi has to intervene into the matter.

The difference between both leaders is to get more tickets for their supporters. The slugfest in front of Rahul Gandhi has once again proved that Congress is a divided party,” he asserted. In the meantime, heart beats of ticket aspirants has increased in Congress and now they are keeping their fingers crossed. Moreover, Congress leaders were trying to cover up the Delhi incident by telling that it is a propaganda spread by the Bharatiya Janata Party.
