Hastashilpi’s silk exhibition pulling crowds

A 17-day ‘Silk India-2018’ exhibition is being organised on the occasion of Diwali by ‘Hastashilpi’ at community hall, Ravishankar Nagar, near Bittan Market, Bhopal.


The exhibition will continue from 10.30 am to 8.30 pm till November 4. “Various Silk Saree Weavers, Handloom Clusters and Silk Co-operative Societies will showcase their products. Aim of the organisation is to make accessible and attain the products directly to customers, without moderator to weavers and artisans,” said Hastashilpi Organiser T Abhinand.


“Arini Silk sarees, crepe and Georgette silk sarees, chiffon silk sarees, tassar silk sarees and suits, Kanjeevaram silk sarees and wedding sarees, designer fancy sarees, Darmavaram silk sarees, raw silk and tassar, jute silk sarees, Dhaka silk sarees, handloom silk cotton sarees, silk blends sarees & stole, silk shawls, Uppada, Gadwal, Paithani sarees, Mangalagiri and Pochampalli silk sarees and much many more products throughout country in this silk expo,” he added. Hand Block Print Sarees, Suits & Silk Bed Covers, Designer dress materials and Border, Lazes, Kurtis, Bhandani Sarees, Hand Woven Matka & Assam Muga Fabrics, Apoorva Silk Sarees, Baluchari, Dhaka Masli, Gicha Sarees, Boutique Sarees, Kantha Sarees, Zordoshi, Lucknow Chikan Work Sarees, Bhagalpur suits, Printed Silk Sarees, Banarasi Sarees, Reshmi plain and Butti sarees, Maheswari, Chanderi Silk Sarees & Suit and Kota silk, Mulberry silk with temple border, Banaras Jamdani, Hand-woven sarees will on display. Tassar and Muga are wild varieties of silk cultivated by silk worms fed on organically grown trees. Bihar, Assam and Chhattisgarh are the three states where Tassar and Muga are produced.
