IAS officers appointed as Election General Observers  for 7 Assembly segments

In order to ensure free and fair elections and to effectively monitor every election process, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has appointed Indian Administrative Service officers as Election General Observers for all seven Assembly segments coming under Raipur district. The Election Commission has also appointed an Indian Police Service officer as Observer (Police) for the district. 

Any person, candidate or representative of any political party can meet these Observers at New Circuit House, Raipur between 10 am and 11 am and submit their grievances or also can speak to them directly by calling them on their mobile phones. Raipur Collector and District Electoral Officer Dr Basavaraju S informed that the Observers have been allocated mobile numbers for election duty.

Accordingly, Vinod Prashuram Kavale (Mob: 94255-09547) has been appointed for Dharsiwan Assembly segment (47), Dr V R Mamtha (Mob: 94255-09548) has been appointed for Raipur (Rural) Assembly segment (48), Sharda Devi (Mob: 94255-09549) has been appointed for Raipur (West) Assembly segment (49), Puneet Agrawal (Mob: 94255-09950) has been appointed for Raipur (North) Assembly segment (50), V P Jaiseelan (Mob: 94255-09551) has been appointed for Raipur (South) Assembly segment (51), Richard Vincent D’souza (Mob: 94255-09552) has been appointed for Arang Assembly segment (52), and Surajbhan Jaiman (Mob: 94255-09553) has been appointed for Abhanpur Assembly segment (53).

Similarly, Vipul Kumar, IPS, (Mob: 94255-09485) has been appointed as Observer (Police) for Raipur district. The Election Commission has also appointed two Observers for monitoring election expenses. Accordingly, Sanjay Pugliya (Mob: 94255-09798) and Prasoon Kabra (Mob: 94255-09795) have already reached Raipur and have started functioning since last week as Observer (Election Expenses). Sanjay Pugliya has been vested upon with the responsibility of Dharsiwan, Raipur (Rural) and Raipur (West) Assembly segments while Prasoon Kabra has been vested with the responsibility of Raipur (North), Raipur (South), Arang and Abhanpur Assembly segments. It is worth mentioning here that Raipur (West) and Raipur (South) has been earmarked as ‘Expense Sensitive’ Assembly segments.
