Inter-state gang of fraudsters nabbed

Central Crime Branch (CCB) on Friday claimed to have busted an inter-state gang of its first kind in Chhattisgarh which duped dozen of nationalised banks operational in State capital by fraudulently availing claims against successful transactions.

By disturbing LAN cable connected with ATM at the time of withdrawing money, gang simultaneously managed to withdraw money and also avail claim from bank, informed Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Amresh Mishra.The gang has learned the trick from a video uploaded in YouTube platform, stated SSP Mishra.

The arrested were identified as Junaid Khan (23) and Jamshed Khan (28), both native of Haryana, said the SSP, elaborating that the accused enjoy the National Finance Switch’s commitment to dispose-off customer complaints within stipulated time.

“From the possession of arrested cheaters, the sleuths of CCB have seized around 24 ATM cards which belongs to their relatives and neighbours. As of now, the gang has tricked around dozens of nationalized banks operational in the city to the tune of over Rs 10 lakh,” informed SSP.

SSP further informed that minimum two persons are required for committing the crime as the loop in this entire process remains for only few seconds. Before the accused duo could trick more banks in the city as well as other parts of Chhattisgarh, CCB sleuths have managed to detain them while undertaking routine checking of banks and ATM kiosks which led to revelation of such technical fraud, added SSP. Further investigation in this connection is underway.
