Justice R K Deshpande is new  Sr Admn Judge of Nagpur bench

Justice Ravi K Deshpande will be the new Senior Administrative Judge of Nagpur bench and will head the division bench dealing with public interest litigation post-Diwali vacations.

Senior Judge Justice Bhushan Dharmadhikari who headed the PIL bench for last 18 months has been shifted to Mumbai because of his inclusion in administrative committee of the High Court. After retirement of Justice Shantanu Kemkar on October 23, Justice Dharmadhikari is now among the five senior-most judges of the High Court and will be part of several key administrative committees.

At Mumbai, Justice Dharmadhikari will head a very important division bench dealing with writ petitions related to Municipal Corporations, cantonment areas and matters under MRTP concerning urban areas, election matters, caste scrutiny matters, all writ petitions related to MRTP Act and civil writ petitions of the year 2017 and 2018.

At Nagpur bench, there will be 12 judges post-Diwali vacations. The constitutional bench will be headed by Justice Ravi Deshpande and will deal with all PILs, civil writ petitions of the year 1998 and of even years thereafter and all LPAs. Justice Vinay Joshi will be his brother judge. Second division bench consisting of Justice P N Deshmukh and Justice Swapna Joshi will deal with all criminal work of odd years and civil work not assigned to other courts.

Justice Sunil Shukre will head the third division bench and deal with civil writ petitions of the year 1997 and of odd years thereafter, all first appeals and family court appeals and all criminal work of even years. Justice Shriram Modak will be his brother judge.

Justice Z A Haq will hear civil writ petitions of even years, all applications under section 482 of Cr.P.C. (for quashing of FIR or criminal proceedings) and all applicationsunder section 407 of Cr.P.C. (to transfer cases and appeals). Justice V M Deshpande will deal with criminal appeals and applications therein and all Criminal Writ Petitions assigned to single judge.

Justice Rohit Deo has been assigned to hear all Second Appeals, Civil Revision Applications and al civil work not assigned to other Courts. Justice Manish Pitale will take up civil writ petitions of odd years. Justice Arun Upadhye has been assigned to hear all First Appeals and Appeals from Orders, Civil Contempt references from District Judiciary and all Miscellaneous Civil Applications.

Justice Murlidhar Giratkar has been assigned to take up bail and anticipatory bail applications and all criminal work not assigned to other Courts.
