Support to MSMEs will create new jobs: Gadkari

MICRO Small Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are the backbone of country’s economy. Ease of doing business for MSMEs will increase after various packages announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shipping and Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation. He was speaking at the MSME’s ‘Support and Outreach’ programme organised in city by Bank of India, at Kavivarya Suresh Bhat Auditorium.

Also present were Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Hardip Singh Puri, Union Minister of State with Independent Charge in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Chandrashekar Bawankule, Maharashtra Energy Minister and Guardian Minister for Nagpur and Bhandara districts, MLAs Sudhakar Kohale, Dr Milind Mane, Vikas Kumbhare, Girish Vyas, V Radha, IAS and Joint Secretary, Water Supply and Waste Management, GoI, A K Dass, Executive Director, Bank of India, Ashwin Mudgal, Collector, Nagpur, Sanjeev Kumar, Divisional Commissioner, Ravindra Thakre, Commissioner (Incharge), NMC, Deepraj Pardikar, Deputy Mayor and others. Gadkari further said that support to MSMEs will create opportunities of investments and employment.

Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis expressed happiness on selection of two cities from the State -- Sangli and Nagpur -- for getting financial support for starting food processing units by the Ministry of MSME. Fadnavis said that it was a golden day for the MSMEs as a number of packages were announced by the Prime Minister. He also informed that 1.9 crore youth in the State were given Rs 60,000 crore loan through Mudra scheme, which will create employment opportunities for others also.

Mahendra Wahi conducted the programme while Vilas Parate, Zonal Manager proposed the vote of thanks. Amit Roy, M N A Ansari, both general managers, Bank of India, Sharad Barapatre, Lead District Manager, CA Milind Kanade, President of BJP Udyojak Aaghadi, and others worked hard for the success of the event. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address from Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi was also shown live on big screen. Presentations on various related topics were also made by experts on the occasion.
