Gadkari opens ‘Atlas Studio’

NITIN Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shipping and Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, inaugurated first-of-its-kind Atlas cycle showroom - ‘Atlas Studio’ here on Saturday.

The showroom located opposite Vijay Talkies on Ghat Road is a venture of Cheap Cycle Stores. Also present on the occasion were Bhupal Sharma, Chief General Manager, Atlas Cycles Haryana Limited; Sushil Agrawal, Director of Haldiram’s Food International; Amol Dhankar, Atlas Cycle Sales Manager for Maharashtra; MLA Krishna Khopde and MLA Vikas Kumbhare, Mohan Mate, former MLA, Jaiprakash Gupta, Dr Anil Samarth and others.

While talking to The Hitavada on the sideline of the inauguration, Bhupal Sharma said, “It is the company’s first showroom in city and 51st in the country.” He said that in the month of August the company had sold 2 lakh cycles to retail customers, which was a benchmark in itself. “The company has an annual growth of 22 per cent. The demand for black colour standard cycles is good but there is a heavy demand in fancy cycles. Looking to this increasing demand the company has launched its ‘Peak’ series,” Sharma said. The ‘Peak’ series Atlas bicycles are light weight and made of alloy frame. Hitesh Kothari, Proprietor of The Cheap Cycle, said that his family is in bicycle business since 1932. “In the year 1942 we had opened our shop at Teen Nal, Chowk, Itwari.
